Dear Future Students of English 300 and Career Fair Goers,

I understand that you are currently stressing about the daunting reality that in order to pass the English 300 course, that you are currently enrolled in, you must attend a career fair. Well, good, you should be. Alright, I’m just kidding, in all reality it isn’t that bad…sort of. I’m here to enlighten you with a few easy tips and pointers that will allow you to be successful during your upcoming endeavor of attending the career fair.

1. Sign up for ‘Change Your Major For a Day’ – Located on the fourth floor of Andrews Hall (behind the tiki bar, right next to the pool).

2. If you missed the deadline for, ‘Change Your Major For a Day’, or just simply couldn’t find the office, wear a jacket to the career fair (preferably leather). This will function as a hiding tool for your nametag, on which it states that you are an English major, while simultaneous functioning as a fashion statement and making you look like the badass you truly are. With the use of your jacket, as a means of hiding the truth that you are in fact an English major, you can pretend to be any major you want, from Mechanical Engineering to Business Administration.

3. Instead of going with simply one classmate. Plan to go with two. Preferably one who is taking the career fair seriously (Tayden Bundy) and one with a more cynical view (Sued Frederick). This will give you a much fuller experience of the career fair, and force you to think critically about the whole situation. It will also give you the opportunity to walk through the fair twice, and get twice as much free food. This is incredibly helpful if you are on a tight college budget and can’t afford to buy lunch.

By implementing these three steps. You too can be successful at this year’s upcoming career fair!

Sincerely,

Sawyer Jay Kreikemeier (A Former English 300 Student)
